When your skin is dry or normal in some places but oily in others such as your chin, forehead and noise; then you have combination skin. Combination skin has blackheads and pores that are open and look much larger than normal.

There are different reasons for combination skin and the most common are hormones and genetics. Fortunately, there are a few things you can do to balance your skin. Moisturize from the inside out and avoid harsh cleansers, as well as pore-clogging products. Like all skin types, combination skin still needs protection from damaging UV rays so remember to put sunscreen before going out.

Lastly, do not forget to exfoliate your skin as it removes dead skin cells and helps promote cell turnover and gives you fresh and more balanced skin. Ask your NOVU doctor about treatments that work best for combination skin.
